Tea room chain enlists help from Riverside

A leading tea room brand has invested in a range of Riverside’s waste machinery to aid its recycling processes.

Over a period of eighteen months, six balers – an RWM450 HD, an RWM75 Multi, an RWM 500, an RWM200 multi and two RWM500 machines – have been installed within the firm’s Yorkshire manufacturing site, to deal with cardboard, bulk bags, plastic buckets, foil and film from packaging waste.

Founded in the early 1900’s, the business is no stranger to baling. But the company’s incumbent equipment had become too costly to maintain, and the lack of service provision provided meant the tea room needed to look elsewhere.

After meeting with MD Jonathan Oldfield in late 2016, it was established that Riverside could assist in the provision of a range of machines, increasing the number of balers in situ.

Commenting on the deal, Jonathan Oldfield said: “When I met with the buyer and engineering manager, it was clear that they were looking for a local machinery provider that could offer an inclusive service and maintenance package too, for peace of mind regarding uptime, reliability and performance.

“Here at Riverside, we provide a bespoke service to all our clients, and maintain a level of flexibility and ease, which automatically struck a chord.

“The relationship has flourished since that initial meeting, and we are proud to have our machines assisting the daily manufacturing and packaging challenges faced by this well-established household brand. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”

Installed in stages, the client now has plans to increase its range of waste machinery, to further improve efficiencies in line with its growing customer base.
